Red Bull Hosts HYROX Training Event on Fukuoka Beach
Red Bull Japan has introduced a new training program aimed at enhancing performance for individuals participating in the fitness race "HYROX." The event, titled "Red Bull Road to HYROX | HYROX TRAINING ON SAND," took place on October 17, 2026, at Seaside Momochi Park in Fukuoka City. This marks the first time Red Bull has hosted this training event on a sandy beach, previously held in gyms across the country.
The program tested participants' overall fitness capabilities, including running speed, strength, and endurance. A total of 278 individuals from Kyushu, as well as participants from Okayama Prefecture, gathered at Momochihama for this unique experience. Participants were energized by the new "Red Bull Energy Drink Apple Edition" while tackling a special program that combined 600 to 800 meters of running with five different workouts: bucket carry, tire pull, dumbbell lunge, burpee broad jump, and wall ball. Additionally, a beginner session was offered, making it accessible for those new to HYROX training.

Feedback from participants highlighted the challenging nature of the event. One experienced HYROX competitor noted, "I have participated in HYROX events before and regularly train, but this was tougher than I expected. The burpee broad jump was particularly exhausting. However, the fun factor outweighed the difficulty, and I’m glad I participated." A beginner participant remarked, "There were movements I don’t usually do in my training, which was enjoyable but also quite tough. I discovered my weaknesses during this event, and I am motivated to train harder!"
Collaboration Enhances Event Experience
The event was organized in collaboration with Taro and Alex Hatase, representatives of CrossFit Hakata. They expressed their surprise at reaching full capacity, noting the diverse range of participants from beginners to advanced levels. Adjustments were made to accommodate varying fitness levels, such as modifying running distances and workout weights. Running on the unstable sand added an extra challenge, making the training session more rewarding than usual. They expressed hope that the Red Bull Road to HYROX event would continue to grow and promote functional fitness across Japan, aiming to double the number of participants in future events.
Get buff
In conjunction with the event, Red Bull also launched a voting campaign themed "What do you want to do with your energy this autumn?" in anticipation of the release of the new "Red Bull Energy Drink Apple Edition" on October 20, 2026. Participants voted using Red Bull cans, with the majority choosing to "try something new" over revisiting past challenges.
The Red Bull Road to HYROX event serves as an inclusive platform for anyone looking to test their running, strength, and endurance through engaging workouts. Whether seasoned athletes or newcomers, all participants had the opportunity to discover their current fitness levels and take steps toward their next goals.
