Habuild Expands from Yoga to Strength Training and Nutrition Services

Habuild, a digital wellness platform, has made waves in the fitness industry by transitioning from free yoga sessions during the pandemic to a comprehensive offering that now includes strength training and nutrition services. Winning the Bootstrap Champ title at the ET Startup Awards 2026, Habuild has established a profitable business model largely driven by repeat subscriptions. According to CEO Saurabh Bothra, the platform reported revenues of Rs 112 crore and a net profit of Rs 57 crore in FY25, showcasing impressive growth from Rs 36 crore in FY24.

Founded in 2020 by Saurabh and Trishala Bothra along with Anshul Agrawal, Habuild has attracted a substantial user base, boasting 690,000 active users with a remarkable 50-55% repeat subscription rate among its annual members. Bothra emphasizes the importance of user engagement, noting that an attendance rate of around 70% for online yoga classes is a testament to the value users find in the program. This high level of satisfaction has fostered word-of-mouth referrals, further enhancing retention and renewal rates.

The company faces competition from free workout content available on platforms like YouTube and Instagram, as well as a growing number of nutrition-tracking applications. Bothra points out that the real challenge lies not in scarcity but in the overwhelming abundance of options available to users. He believes that Habuild's unique selling proposition is its focus on accountability, which sets it apart from free platforms that cannot offer the same level of personalized engagement.

As a bootstrapped company, Habuild has maintained profitability from its inception, allowing it to invest in new wellness offerings while keeping operational costs low. Approximately 90% of new users are acquired through referrals, primarily via WhatsApp, which helps the company minimize customer acquisition costs in an industry where digital fitness companies often spend heavily on marketing.

Expanding Services to Attract Younger Users

Looking ahead, Habuild plans to broaden its offerings to include multilingual classes, additional trainers, and new verticals focused on food and sleep tracking. The company aims to attract a younger demographic, with Trishala Bothra's program featuring strength training, dance, and intense workouts expected to resonate with this audience. Currently, around 60% of Habuild's user base consists of individuals aged 35 to 55, with those under 35 making up about 20%.

Get buff

In addition to expanding its fitness offerings, Habuild is also venturing into AI-led health tools to further enhance user experience. The company has assembled a 55-member tech and product team dedicated to developing health and nutrition tools, including a meal-planning app called Kitchen Saathi. Bothra asserts that these tools will help personalize nutrition at scale while ensuring a strong focus on health, food, and habit-building.

Since its launch, Habuild has seen over 20 million users sign up for its online yoga classes, which currently include six to seven sessions a day, with the first session being live and the others recorded. As the company continues to innovate and expand, it is well-positioned to make a significant impact in the digital fitness and wellness landscape.
